Hawaii Pacific University Undergraduate International Scholarships

It is the mission of Hawai‘i Pacific University to prepare students for community and industry leadership. For this reason, we have established a scholarship to recognize outstanding international students who have the potential to become leaders in their respective communities.

Description: This Undergraduate International Scholarship is a partial tuition waiver. It is renewable each year until completion of a undergraduate degree as long as the student is in good academic standing.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Eligible applicants are full-time degree-seeking students who have applied directly to Hawai'i Pacific University and have been accepted.

The following scholarship requirements must be fulfilled to be considered for an award:
A. A completed HPU Application for Undergraduate Admissions form including:

•Certified academic transcripts from your college (all documents that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations)
•U.S. $50 application fee
•Statement of Financial Sponsorship
•Original or certified copy of a bank statement or letter showing sufficient funds to cover one academic year of study at HPU
•Documented proof that you meet HPU's minimum English Requirements.

B. A completed Undergraduate International Scholarship Application form including:

•A letter of recommendation, preferably from a professor, current or former teacher who knows you well.
•A letter of motivation.

Deadlines:
Applications for the fall semester must be mailed by April 1, and received by April 15
Applications for the spring semester must be mailed by September 1, and received by September 15.

DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunities

Highly qualified undergraduate students are invited to apply for scholarships funding study, senior thesis research and/or internships in Germany. The goal of this program is to support study abroad in Germany and at German universities. Preference will be given to students whose projects or programs are based at and organized by a German university. Scholarships are available either as part of an organized study abroad program or as part of an individual, student-designed study abroad semester or year.
Each year, an independent selection committee of academics and international education experts is assembled to select the Undergraduate Scholarship grantees. This committee is looking for students who:


  • are currently second and third year students and will be in their third and fourth year during their stay in Germany

  • are seeking DAAD support for a 4-10 month period in Germany during the German academic year.

  • possess outstanding academic records and personal integrity, as evinced by both their grades and letters of recommendation.

  • are US or Canadian citizens or permanent residents thereof. Foreign nationals are eligible if they have been full-time students at an accredited US or Canadian university for more than one year at the time of application and will return to the US or Canada after the scholarship period to complete their Bachelor's degree.

  • have well-defined study, research or internship plans for their stay in Germany.

  • submit the DAAD language evaluation form with their application, although German language competency is not mandatory.

  • demonstrate an interest in contemporary German and European affairs and who explain the significance of their project in Germany to their future studies, research or professional goals.

  • are enrolled, full-time students in an undergraduate degree-granting program at an accredited North American college or university.
 Terms of Award
Scholarships may be granted for a minimum of four (one semester) and a maximum of 10 months (one academic year). Recipients will be awarded a monthly stipend of approximately € 650, plus additional funds to help defray travel and research expenses as well as health insurance.
Note: The scholarship periods must take place during the German academic year (anywhere from October 2010 through July 2011)

Submit all pages in one package (NO STAPLES, BINDERS, or FOLDERS) to the DAAD New York office. Be sure to submit all materials and the correct amount of copies of each. Do not staple or bind any part of your application! Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
Please disregard the last page of the online application, entitled "Information regarding your application." The information relevant to your application includes supplemental documents listed below, as well as the instructions DAAD New York provides in the Online Application Guidelines and the Instructions for Completing the DAAD Online Application. Applicants do NOT need to submit a photo.
Your paperwork should be in English or French (if you are Francophone Canadian), not in German.

Two Letters (no more, no less) of Recommendation: If you have two majors, please submit letters from professors in both of your major fields of study; Otherwise, please submit a letter from a professor in your major field of study, and a letter from a professor in one of your minor fields of study. Please make sure to tell your professors not to send letters in German!
Statement of Support and Credit Eligibility.
One of the following: Acceptance into Study Abroad Program, Exchange Program, letter by mentor or invitation from a German university. (see FAQs if you have questions)
Transcripts (for the Undergraduate Scholarship Program only college transcripts!)
Language Evaluation Certificate (Sprachzeugnis). (All applicants are required to submit this, even if your study program is in English.)

Their Majesties' Scholarships
Their Majesties, the King and Queen of Thailand , graciously provide master's degree scholarships for study of various specializations at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). These scholarships cover the tuition and registration fees as well as bursary for living expenses. All eligible Asian students may apply.
RTG Master Fellowship Awards for Thai Students
Supported by Royal Thai Government, AIT offers Thai students an opportunity to study with finest students in Asia . A large number of no-bond fellowships intend to increase the competency of Thai scientists and engineers for the future challenges of FTA, in any field of its 3 Schools (Engineering & Technology; Environment, Resources & Development; and Management). Any Thai citizen with a bachelor degree and good proficiency in English can qualify for these awards:

1. Full Study-Cost Fellowships (752,000 Baht Award). This fellowship covers the entire study cost of Masters program. Requirement: Cumulative GPA 3.5 or higher
2. 75% Study Cost Fellowships (564,000 Baht Award). Recipients pay study cost of one semester, or 188,000 Baht. Requirement: Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
3. 50% Study Cost Fellowships (376,000 Baht Award). Recipients pay study cost of two semester, or 376,000 Baht. Requirement: Cumulative GPA 2.75 or higher

IPRS, SIRF and other international scholarships

Introduction

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia.
The purpose of the IPRS and the UWA SIRF scheme is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas in which the University has specialised research strengths and to support Australia's research effort. Successful applicants can expect to become members of a research team working under the direction of senior researchers and in an area which has attracted external resources.

Applications for international postgraduate research scholarships at UWA are rated according to the following criteria: (a) Academic achievement; (b) English language achievement; (c) Research training achievement; and (d) Proposed research environment. Allocation of scholarships is the outcome of a competitive ranking and selection process in which applications are scored and ranked by Schools, Faculties and the University Scholarships Committee, according to these common criteria and on the basis of evidence provided.

Applications for International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS), Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRF) and Indian SIRF Scholarships will open from Friday 18 June 2010 and close on Friday 13 August 2010 - extended to 15 October for India Scholarships only. These scholarships are for study in Semester 1, 2011. IPRS and ordinary SIRF scholarships deadline for applications remains unchanged - Friday, 13 August 2010.

China SIRF Scholarship applications 2011 first round applications will open on Monday 23 August 2010 and will close on Friday 15 October 2010. These are for study in 2011.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) and Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRF)

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) and the Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRF) are funded by The University of Western Australia.

Both of these scholarships cover tuition fees and health insurance premiums only. The University provides a University Postgraduate Award International Students (UPAIS) or a University International Stipend (UIS) living allowance scholarship of $A22,500 per annum (in 2010, to be confirmed by DEEWR) for successful IPRS and SIRF applicants and an allowance for thesis production costs. Travel and relocation costs are the responsibility of the applicant.
