Credit of Life Experience

Credit of Life Experience

Let's face it. Life has a knack for throwing us curve balls. We're able to hit some balls out of the park. Many, however, only get us to first base, while others cause us to strike out altogether. Take your education, for instance. How many times have you committed to completing a degree program, only to be thrown out of the game by other responsibilities? Once? Twice? Three times or more? You're not alone. Most working adults find it extremely difficult to fit traditional classroom education into their busy lives.

instant degree

APPLY HERE

But, fortunately, all that's changed. E-learning, a revolutionary method of anytime, anywhere learning, offers mature students the convenience and flexibility they need to earn their degrees and enhance their careers. And, because e-learning allows you to design your own learning schedule and leverage your own learning style, you're better able to continue moving forward with your education - despite those pesky curve balls.
In addition, a lesser-known entity - life credits - is making it easier than ever for motivated e-learning students to complete a degree program. Life credits offer the potential for you to reduce e-learning class time required to complete your degree. For older students, this removes an incredible roadblock to continued education.
But what are life credits, and how can they help you achieve your goal?

Earn College Credit For What You Already Know

Simply put, colleges and universities recognize life experience - often gained through the workplace, military or through public or community experience - when conferring college credits. This acceptance of life credits helps to accelerate your e-learning college experience, while enabling you to earn a fully accredited degree.

If you look closely at your own life experience, there's a good chance that you've already batted home some of your college requirements. But each college and university independently designs and proctors its life credit program. So it's important to research potential programs to determine their relevance to your education objective and life experience. You should also make sure that the institution you're considering is fully accredited.

Bachelor Degree in Finance

Bachelor Degree in Finance

If you enjoy risk, numbers, or business, a bachelor degree in finance may be ideal for you. A career in finance can offer numerous opportunities as businesses, families, and governments explore better ways to manage increasingly limited funds.

With the recent Wall Street crises and current economic slump, you might imagine that a bachelor degree in finance is a dead end. In fact, nothing could be farther from the truth. With tightened spending, proper money management has become more important as families, businesses, and governments around the world try to do more with much smaller budgets. If you enjoy math, numbers, or business, few academic disciplines can provide as many opportunities or as much stimulation as finance can.

What Can You Learn with a Bachelor Degree in Finance?

Whether you choose to pursue business finance, public finance, or personal finance, the underlying science of funds management remains the same. You study how money, risk, and time are interrelated both at the micro and macro levels. Typical coursework includes:
  • Business administration
  • Economics
  • Strategic management
  • Mathematics
  • Game theory
  • Accounting
Understanding these areas is critical for navigating short-term and long-term changes in whatever markets in which you choose to specialize.

For What Careers Can a Bachelor Degree in Finance Prepare You?

Over 30 percent of all finance specialists work directly for insurance or financial firms. Roughly 10 percent work in the public sector. The remaining 60 percent work in a range of different industries from business to entertainment to medicine. Some work with large-scale firms, trading unimaginable volumes of money around the clock. Others provide one-on-one consultations, helping families save for college. And still others work freelance, lending their unique problem-solving skills to whichever clients need them the most. Across the board, however, all indications suggest that new opportunities for finance professionals should keep pace with the national average for most other occupational fields.

DuPont Expands in Solar Energy with Acquisition of Innovalight

DuPont has acquired Innovalight, a company specializing in advanced silicon inks and process technologies that increase the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells. The acquisition further strengthens DuPont's position as a leader in materials for the solar energy market, enabling a broader and more integrated photovoltaic materials and technology offering from DuPont. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

DuPont exceeded $1 billion in revenue from sales into the photovoltaic market in 2010, and has set a goal to reach $2 billion by 2014 based on continued growth supported by new innovations that improve solar module efficiency, lifetime and overall system costs.

"Innovalight has very exciting technology that improves cell efficiency and DuPont can help expedite its adoption," said David B. Miller, president - DuPont Electronics & Communications. "DuPont and Innovalight share a commitment to innovation in materials that have a common purpose - to make solar energy more efficient and more affordable."

Innovalight, located in Sunnyvale, Calif., has developed innovative proprietary silicon ink products, process technology and a pipeline of anticipated products. Silicon inks used in conjunction with DuPont'' Solamet® photovoltaic metallization pastes boost the amount of electricity produced from sunlight, enabling the production of superior Selective Emitter solar cells. According to industry estimates, Selective Emitter technology could represent 13 percent of crystalline silicon solar cell production by 2013 and up to 38 percent by 2020.

"Innovalight brings in-depth knowledge of solar devices, silicon technology and Selective Emitter technology, and DuPont adds expertise in materials science, manufacturing capabilities and global market access," said Conrad Burke, founder - Innovalight. "Our offerings are complementary to one another, and together we will broaden and accelerate our ability to meet customer needs and address today''s energy challenges with our continued innovations."

DuPont anticipates that the acquisition will enable opportunities for greater efficiencies and future innovations which could more quickly and effectively help address the market demand for higher-efficiency solar cell designs. DuPont experience in production scale-up and manufacturing operations will accelerate time-to-market for Innovalight products and broaden customers'' access to the technology. In addition, DuPont''s broad range of offerings in photovoltaic module materials, including backsheet films and encapsulants, will help accelerate adoption of new high efficiency solar cells that need to be packaged into modules to meet in-field performance requirements.

Bachelor of Arts Degree

Bachelor of Arts Degree

A bachelor of arts degree, also known as a BA degree, is an undergraduate degree granted from universities and colleges. The bachelor of arts degree is considered a liberal arts degree whose purpose is to provide general knowledge in mainly non-scientific subjects. Areas of study might include courses in the Humanities, including Literature, Foreign Language, History, Arts, and Philosophy. Other classes would be the Social and Behavioral Sciences, such as Economics, Psychology, or Political Science.

The typical time frame to obtain a bachelor of arts degree is 4 years, although some students finish within 3 years or take as long as 5 years. While specific degree requirements vary by school, most schools require at least 120 units to receive the bachelor of arts degree, with a certain number of classes designated as upper division. Students must first complete a general studies or core curriculum program. During the second year of study, students must declare a major, which is an area of interest, and take the specified number of related courses.

A bachelor of arts degree provides options for students upon graduation. Some may continue their education and receive a master's or doctorate degree. Other students opt to enter the workforce in such fields as education, journalism, or business. Not only is a BA degree more lucrative, the broad based education prepares students to be well rounded, culturally knowledgeable, and equipped with communication and critical thinking skills.

Solar Battery Prices info

Unlike solar modules and inverters, batteries are a mature technology and a product that is used in volume outside the solar energy industry. Consequently, the opportunity for major cost breakthroughs over the medium term is limited.

Batteries are used in the substantial off-grid solar markets, but also in on-grid markets, where the customer requires power even during periods that the electricity grid is down. Batteries can account for around 15% of the cost of an installed solar energy system.

While there are many more battery manufacturers than solar cell manufacturers, the market is segmented both by battery technology and location. Not all battery manufacturers serve the solar electric market. A high weight to price ratio means that where possible companies minimize transportation of batteries. Therefore, it is typical, for example, for a European manufacturer to mainly serve European markets.

Pricing Summary

From a survey of 384 prices from 21 online retailers, there were just four price moves this month as compared to 16 moves in the prior month. There were three price increases and one price decrease compared to 14 price increases and two price decreases in June's result. The US index was unchanged at $0.213 per watt hour.

For batteries most commonly used, the average retail price is from $0.239/watt hour to $0.260/watt hour; the high end industrial solution is $0.361/watt hour.

Unlike the methodology for the solar module price index, which separates Europe-based dealers from United States dealers, the battery index pools all the prices in the survey, for all dealers worldwide, and translates them in to either dollars or euros regardless of the original currency. In the past month, the dollar was unchanged against the euro. As a result, the overall euro index was unchanged at €0.149 per output watt hour.

The battery price index is based upon "price per watt hour" rating. Though not a perfect measure, since technology choice and other technical factors are relevant, the consistent approach in the index provides a representative guide on the direction and magnitude of changes. The index calculation is based upon the aggregate of all the prices divided by the aggregate output watts at 20 amp hours. Consequently a price per watt hour at 20 amp hours of discharge is the result.

Re: How Much is Average MBA Salary?

Regarding the United Stated Department of Education, accreditation is the acknowledgement that the college retains regulations required for its graduates in order to gain admission to other trustworthy institutions of higher education or to achieve qualifications for professional practice. This includes professional accreditation, which recognizes that an institution sticks to the appropriate regulations wherein a graduate would be able to competently practice within the field after graduating.

Since the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) applies it, "accreditation is recognized as a symbol of accountability to the public." Ensuring that your online MBA will be well-respected by potential organizations, you'll really need to achieve it from an accredited university.
The background of accreditation goes back to the 19th century, when the quest for higher learning was finding an increase in interest. The consideration in standard colleges and universities came up with the importance of a procedure which could identify whether colleges attained ordinarily valued standards of academic quality. In the 1880's, the The United States observed an beginning of regionally accrediting bodies, that were peer-based and consisted of several other colleges and universities , which means that the accreditors engaged appeared to be using the same requirements of studying to themselves. By the twentieth century, national accrediting agencies had been established to create minimum standards of academics quality through the entire country. In 1912, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) was developed for private colleges and turned into one of the first national accrediting body in the us. Shortly after, the American Council of Education (ACE) has been started in 1923, together with the mission of incorporating public institutions into the accreditation process.
Today, equally ACICS and ACE are nevertheless functioning like the six major agencies which provide state accreditation. Accredited MBA programs online should have regional accreditation according to the state the places their main campus is situated. Accredited online MBA programs using satellite campuses and venues should additionally have the adequate regional accreditation for those states, at the same time. These institutions are recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) as well as the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, (CHEA) and are:

• Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges or MSA, grants accreditation to institutions in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Central America, Europe, and the Middle East.
• New England Association of Schools and Colleges or NEASC, grants accreditation to schools in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
• North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement or NCA, grants accreditation to institutions in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Navajo Nation, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
• Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges or NWCCU, grants accreditation to institutions in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
• Southern Association of Schools and Colleges or SACS, grants accreditation to institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Latin America.
• Western Association of Schools and Colleges or WASC, grants accreditation to institutions in California, Hawaii, and other Australasian nations.
There are 52 recognized national accrediting organizations. If an institution has not earned MBA accreditation from a regional agency, it should have accreditation with a national agency instead. Some of the broader agencies (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education) include:
• Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)
• Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET)
• Council on Occupational Education (COE)
• Distance Education and Training Council (DETC)

Computer Vision PhD Scholarship, Australia

Expressions of interest are sort for a PhD candidate to work on a project starting in late 2011 or early 2012 to develop a high-speed light-weight embedded vision system for robotics and computer vision applications.
Autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic vehicles, including aerial, terrestrial and marine vehicles,
are a key technology for a wide range of emerging applications in society. Robotic vehicles that function in changing and dynamic environments require sensor systems that provide the vehicle with robust and rich three dimensional information on the environment, enabling the vehicle to avoid collisions and move in a natural manner. Vision is arguably the most robust, light-weight, low-cost and information-rich sensor system available. However, vision sensors generate prohibitive amounts of data, especially at the high frame rates that are required to control dynamic systems such as aerial robotic vehicles, and vision data requires significant processing before it can be used in any given application. Dealing with vision data transmission and managing fast vision processing is arguably the limiting factor in the implementation of vision based control of robotic systems.
This project will address the fundamental science and technology for embedded vision systems for robotic applications. The key philosophy of the project is that a vision sensor for robotic applications should be embedded, that is, designed to to be fitted to a mobile vehicle and provide considerable processing of the data locally (in the sensor unit) with only a fraction of the data, but a majority of the important information, passed back to the central control system. The student will be involved in developing vision processing algorithms for optic flow computation and estimation of the local three dimensional environment that are tailored to high speed vision and implementable on light-weight low power processors. Integration of inertial data into the embedded vision system is a crucial aspect of the project. Low dimensional representation of the visual information is also a crucial aspect of the project that will make exploiting the data practical. This work will be grounded in the development of a prototype small-scale lightweight low-power embedded vision sensor for use on mobile robotic vehicles.

A full APA equivalent scholarship is available for the successful students and international students will be considered. The successful candidate will have a strong interest and preferably prior background in embedded systems, FPGAs, and vision systems. The project will have a significant practical aspect with opportunity for theoretical contribution.

The funding for this project is forecast for later in 2011. At the moment the chief investigators are seeking expressions of interest with the intention of recruiting quickly when the funding is finalised.
Interested students should contact Dr David Austin or Prof. Robert Mahony for further information.
