Postgraduate Studentships
Postgraduate Studentships (PGSs) are awarded to full-time students to support their daily subsistence, tuition fees and other expenses that may incur during the course of their studies. Normally, a full-time MPhil/PhD student is assigned a full PGS. The monthly stipend for 2007-08 is subject to review. For reference, the monthly stipend is HK$11,650 in 2006-07. Two schemes are launched to provide financial support to students in conference participation and conducting field trips.
The University deems conference attendance an important part of research postgraduate students’ educational experience and professional development. With the generous support of the Lingnan Foundation, the University has established the Lingnan Foundation Postgraduate Student Conference Travel Scholarships to support our students to participate in international conferences presenting their research papers. The scholarship amount varies with the location of the conference venue and is up to HK$12,000.
